The XpertRule environment consist of an IDE (Interactive Development Environment) and a runtime engine. Two architectures are supported for the runtime engine

- A .NET engine with an Ajax thin browser client presentation layer.

- A unique Javascript engine with an Ajax thin browser client. This means that the engine and the display layer are both thin client applications running fully in the browser. This unique capability allows complex data capture and navigation processes to run fully within a browser without requiring a server. The server is referenced only for reading / writing data to databases and calling other web services.
